Condamine Headwaters Landcare Group has launched registrations for the 24th annual Queensland Landcare Conference, which will take place 27 – 29 September in Warwick. 

Four high profile keynote speakers have been announced for event. Author and science communicator Julian Cribb joins Australia’s first official advocate for soil health Sir Michael Jeffery. The organisers have also confirmed Shane Joyce,2012 Winner Carbon Cocky of the Year and Georgie Somerset, President of theQueensland Rural, Regional and Remote Women’s Network. Bill Gammage, author of The Biggest Estate on Earth, Dr Nancy Schellhorn from CSIRO Ecosystem Sciences and Terry McCosker, Director Carbon Link Limited are also on the bill as keynote speakers.

The program includes more than 30 concurrent presentations covering biosecurity, pest plants and animals, carbon, biodiversity, habitat restoration, flood recovery, community awareness and engagement as well as a selection of field trips and workshops for practical skill building. A social program, including a gala conference dinner and welcome reception by the banks of the Condamine will allow plenty of time for networking and a Junior Landcare Program will cater for school children attending the event with their parents.
